The International Mariners Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ) through the IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc. hosted a luncheon in honor of their scholars and their families.  After their graduation ceremony on May 24, 2017, 56 IMMAJ scholars from the 150-midshipmen representing the Aqueleas Class of 2017 proceeded to the Mess Hall of the Capt. Gregorio S. Oca building, MAAP Campus, Mariveles, Bataan.

IMMAJ-PJMCC Consultant, CE Wenifredo Sola welcomed everyone to the traditional ceremony.  He then called out the IMMAJ dignitaries, guests and sponsors in attendance to be acknowledged.  CE Sola reminded the graduates to thank their parents for the sacrifices they have made through the years so that they can fulfill their dreams of becoming a seafarer.  He congratulated the graduates and challenged them to be world class seafarers who are not just knowledgeable, skillful and competent but also as seafarers of integrity just as the guest-of-honor and speaker, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Hon. Silvestre H. Bello III earlier said in his address.

IMMAJ Chairman, Capt. Masami Sasaki expressed his gratitude to the parents for supporting their children through their years of study in MAAP.   He also welcomed the graduate as the Japanese fleet is eager to have them on board the soonest possible time.  Lastly Capt. Sasaki wished them the best of luck in the challenges they will be facing in a life at sea.

The scholars who graduated with honors were called to the stage to be recognized.  Capt Sasaki and CE Sola handed over special gifts from IMMAJ and PJMCC for their achievements.  After the program, the graduates then proceeded to meet their sponsors and principals for a briefing so they may know their next steps and prepare them for a career ahead.
