Course Description |
This course covers topics on the low voltage electrical technology, application, safety, and basic maintenance procedures onboard ships with written/practical exercises in operating and basic testing of low voltage equipment in compliance with Sections A–III/1 and A-III/6, and with Tables A-III/1 and A-III/6 of the STCW Code. The course uses extensive practical exercises on modern low voltage equipment to familiarize the participants on the Low Voltage Switchboard, its functions, and theories behind its operation and control. The emphasis is on the safe working practices and procedures which should be followed before, during and after any low voltage work is undertaken, and for participants to be able to carry out low voltage isolation and switching operations.
