Course Description |
This course covers topics on the high voltage electrical technology, application, safety, and basic maintenance procedures onboard ships with written/practical exercises in operating and basic testing of high voltage equipment in compliance Sections A-III/1 and A-III/6, and with Tables A-III/1 and A-III/6 of the STCW Code. The course uses extensive practical exercises on modern high voltage equipment and aims to familiarize participants on the High Voltage Switchboard, its functions, and theories behind operation and control. The emphasis is on the safe working practices and procedures which should be followed before, during and after any high voltage work is undertaken, and will able to work in carrying out high voltage isolation and switching operations.
