The Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) held the 2015 MAAP Commencement Exercises at the New Parade Ground of the MAAP campus in Kamaya Point, Alas – Asin, Mariveles, Bataan last May 23, 2015.

The Commencement Exercises began with the Graduation Parade.  The entry and formation of troops promptly started at 1000H.  With the MAAP cadets in formation, the Sound Off, Manual of Arms, Publication of Order and Officers’ Center commands were given by the Commandant.  As the Graduating Class of 2015 was entering, a loud cheer by the families and friends of the graduating class and the faculty and staff of MAAP welcomed them.

The Philippine National Anthem was played by the band and the Invocation was led by Fr. Vincent O. Comple.  Associated Marine Officers’ and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) President, Dr. Conrado F. Oca gave the Welcome Remarks.

Cm. Renante A. Garcia presented the graduating class to MAAP President, VAdm. Eduardo Ma. R. Santos who declared that the cadets have fulfilled the requirements for graduation and conferred their Bachelor’s Degrees.  Cdr. Lawrence P.  Ato, PN led the Reading of Commission Orders and CE. Rodolfo Paiso led the presentation of the graduating students.

This year’s Commencement Exercises also honored graduates of the MAAP Masteral program.  VAdm. Eduardo Ma. R. Santos led the declaration of graduates and conferment of Master’s Degree.  After which he introduced this year’s Guest of Honor.

All Japan Seaman’s Union (JSU) President Mr. Yasumi Morita gave the commencement address and he began by congratulating the graduates and their parents.  He welcomes them in the seafaring community reminds them that after graduation real work and sacrifices now begins.  As seafarers they are now valuable resource for commerce and nation building.  In closing, he wished the graduates luck and to uphold honor in their chosen career.

The 2015 MAAP Commencement Exercises concluded with the singing of the Alma Mater song.
