The IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc., conducted a 10 day-training course for instructors known as the IMO Model Course 6.09 from April 25, 2016 to May 6, 2016 at the JSU-AMOSUP Mariners’ Home, 1765 Vazquez St. Cor. Nakpil St., Malate, Manila. It was attended by instructors of various schools and training centers; and endorsed by the Philippine Association of Maritime Institutions (PAMI).

“This is a basic training for those who want to teach and to handle maritime courses. It is an IMO model course, meaning, the program was designed by the International Maritime Organization. It is intended for those seafarers and non-seafarers who would like to obtain the basic competencies of a teacher”, said Chief Wenifredo Sola, consultant to the IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc.

Chief Sola said that the 10-day training course was free of charge and that they have arranged six deliveries of the program this year.  He added that the foundation offers training to those who handle non-technical courses to improve their skills, so they may qualify as instructors of maritime courses in different schools and training centers.
