PJMCC, AMOSUP Receive Commendations from the Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs

The Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council, Inc. (PJMCC) received a special commendation from the Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Taro Kono, on October 1, 2019 in Makati City.  PJMCC President Mr. Eduardo U. Manese received the Certificate of Commendation from the Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Koji Haneda.

PJMCC received a Certificate of Commendation, which reads (as translated in English):

CERTIFICATE OF COMMENDATION

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan extends his deepest regards to the Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council, Inc. (PJMCC) in recognition of its distinguished service in promoting economic relations between Japan and the Philippines, contributing to promoting friendly relations between Japan and other nations.

Awarded on the 23rd day, 7th month, the 1st year of Reiwa (2019).

PJMCC is a non-stock non-profit organization comprised of seventy three (73) manning agents with ships owned and controlled by Japanese companies.  The association is actively involved with the maritime and seafaring industry both in the Philippines and in Japan, and is committed to improving skills and competencies of Filipino seafarers serving the Japanese merchant marine fleet.

Also recognized with a Certificate of Commendation from Japan’s Foreign Minister was the Associated Marine Officers’ and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP).  Japanese Ambassador His Excellency Koji Haneda presented the Certificate of Commendation to AMOSUP President Dr. Conrad F. Oca.

"PJMCC received its first commendation from then Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe in February 2014”, Mr. Manese said. "For this second award, we are truly grateful to the government of Japan, especially to Minister Taro Kono and Ambassador Koji Haneda, for once again honoring us and recognizing our service in the Philippine-Japan maritime industry.”
