The Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) held the Commencement Exercises for the 2nd Batch of MAAP Class 2015 at the New Parade Ground of the MAAP campus in Kamaya Point, Alas – Asin, Mariveles, Bataan last December 4, 2015.

Belonging to the Company Zephyr, the second batch of graduates will soon be joining their colleagues from the first batch to a life at sea.  The first batch had their Commencement Exercises last May 23, 2015.

The Commencement Exercises began with the Graduation Parade which consisted of the Entry and Formation of Troops, the Sound Off, Manual of Arms, Publication of Order and Officers’ Center.  With the MAAP cadets now in order, the 2nd Batch of Class 2015 made their entry.

The Philippine National Anthem was played by the band and the Invocation was led by Brother Cirilo R. Dela Cruz.  Associated Marine Officers’ and Seamen’s Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) President, Dr. Conrado F. Oca gave the Welcome Remarks.

MAAP Dean of Academics Cm. Renante A. Garcia presented the graduating class to MAAP President, VAdm. Eduardo Ma. R. Santos who declared that the cadets have fulfilled the requirements for graduation and conferred their Bachelor’s Degrees.  Cdr. Lawrence P. Ato, Jr., PN led the Reading of Commission Orders and Radm Ronald Joseph Mercado, AFP led the Oath of Office.  The Awarding of Diplomas and the Presentation of Awards were presided over by VAdm. Santos, Dr. Oca and the Guest of Honor.

VAdm. Santos again took to the podium and introduced the Guest of Honor, International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC) CEO, Mr. Francesco Gargiulo who gave his Commencement Address.  As a sign of gratitude a memento was presented by VAdm.  Santos and Dr. Oca to the Guest of Honor.  The Graduation Ceremony for 2nd Batch of MAAP Class 2015 then concluded with the singing of the Alma Mater song and a Pass and Review.
