New Maritime Instructors Graduate from IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc. IMO Model Course 6.09

Fourteen (14) participants from PJMCC member companies completed the IMO Model Course 6.09 (Training for Instructors) conducted by the IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc. from 02 to 13 July 2018. The group is already the fourth batch of graduates for the year.

The Training Course is intended for those seafarers and non-seafarers who would like to obtain the basic competencies of a teacher. This aims to teach participants on how to plan and prepare for effective teaching and instruction; select appropriate methods of instruction and teaching materials; and evaluate the teaching and learning process.

The Training Course was held at the JSU-AMOSUP Mariner’s Home 1765 Vasquez St. corner Nakpil Sts., Malate, Manila. The 10-day course was facilitated by two (2) instructors namely, Ms. Ana Maria Jasmin M. Sampedro and Mr. Wenifredo G. Sola.

On 13 July 2018, a simple graduation ceremony was held. The elected Class President of Batch 04 (Marineros 7/18), Capt. William S. Dumdum, gave a welcome message to his fellow graduates and guests. During the ceremony, the following graduates were recognized for their exemplary performance in the Final Practice Teaching activity of the course:

  1. Capt. William S. Dumdum
  2. CO Benjie F. Lawas

Finally, Certificates of Attendance were also awarded to all graduates.
